  • My Top 3 Bob Dylan Songs

by Dan DeRoeck on April 13, 2010

I’m a huge Dylan fan. In my opinion, he is one of the best song writers to come along in our era. To come up with only three songs was tough, but I managed. So here they are:

    1. Positively 4th Street -

Hands down, my favorite Dylan piece.  Most Dylan songs have that poetic sort of melodramatic modal to them, but this one tops them all.

There are many great lines in this one:

“If I was a master thief, perhaps I’d rob them”

    And my favorite:

“I wish that for just one time, you could stand in my shoes… you’d know what a drag it is to see you.”

    A true Dylan classic.

    2. Like a Rolling Stone-

This has similar attributes to Positively 4th Street, sort of an uptake from it… but love it nevertheless.

    3. Knockin’ on Heavens Door-

Not much to elaborate on this one… simply classic Dylan.
